Material selection & sustainable practices have always been in the forefront of what is created here.

Wherever possible hand-selected reclaimed timber is used, waste minimised & water-based finishes selected with lowest VOCs available.

Many of the materials used have already lived (at least) one life. Mostly native Australian hardwoods that have held up someone's roof, been playground equipment or part of an industrial knitting machine. Mandrake Workshop provides the opportunity for these treasures to sing again.  It's been my experience that the work these materials produce tells a story tenfold the value of the material itself.

Creating a sustainably conscious business is not only a way to recycle, but is a powerful example of how our societal structures can adapt to meet the needs of our current global climate.
